  • Details
This is a stunning specimen of iris fluorite combined with dogtooth calcite. It is a cute little druse of perfect cubic fluorite crystals. There is a lot of rainbow throughout the specimen. On the back is a druse of small calcite crystals, which are called dogtooth because of their sharp points. Iris fluorite is a fairly rare mineral, so don't hesitate. Buy it now.

Where does the rainbow come from?
Fluorite crystals have a very thin layer of iron on them, which gives them a golden color and iridescent flashes. This happens when fluorite develops with iron-rich minerals such as pyrite. It doesn't happen often. One pocket was recently found in Loralai, Balochistan, Pakistan. That's where this beautiful specimen was mined.

    How to display it?
This is definitely a collector's item. It should be displayed in a glass case under cool white lighting. Place it on a rotating holder to make the rainbow stand out.

    How to care for it?
It doesn't need any special care, but it will appreciate a little oil from time to time.
